All of us have been working hard on creating sublime content for a long time but today content marketing has become a new major thing.

To market our content in a pleasing way marketers are consistently spreading it all over social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, Twitter.

Many digital agencies are working day and night to get audience engagement in order to grow their reach. Now that we are talking about our content to be sublime, how do we not talk about visual content?

After all, today, visual content is the most engaging content.

People like visuals because it resonates with them on a different level. Because it’s relatable.

Visual content makes sense; many bloggers, influencers and digital marketers are relying on visuals to share their stories with the world and the virtual audience engages equally.

Ask yourself this, “When was the last time you paid full heed to a blog or any content without images, videos, GIFs?”

For me, my conscious usually tells me to drift apart from content minus visuals. Because it’s monotonous. Isn’t it?

After all visuals add value to your content. Any content be it a blog or a learning material, it becomes a little brightened up if there are serenading pictures or funny GIFs. Anything that allows your content for the audience to relate brings significant change. That, my friend, is the power of visual content.

Many of us have our content strategies planned out for the year and we are constantly pushing out content in a timely fashion. Delivering content consistently is an excellent practice but this should be your first question “Is my content bringing any value to the audience?”

If you fail to engage with audience, the content is definitely failing to speak. Perhaps it lacks quirk. So what do you do now?

You re-purpose, revamp and power up your content. Authentic content.

So, how do you add quirk to your content? The answer is ‘add visuals.’

What are those visuals you should be adding to your content? Apparently, there are several ways but the leading ones are:

  1. Images — This is the oldest and most used way in the era of content marketing. Several beauty, lifestyle and travel bloggers have been swiftly earning brownie points for a longer time than we can imagine through images. The creativity varies from serenading pictures to quirky images. Being the most basic approach, it is still the king of visual content. Duh! The point being its ability to speak for your business through visual content.
  2. Videos — Another oldest method is videos. Just like images, videos is also one of the oldest ways to present your visual content but the popularity of videos strongly depends on creativity. Instagram has got a unique feature called Boomerang that lets users shoot a video of a few seconds and plays it on a loop. People are using this feature enormously and are putting in every kind of fun element that they can. Therefore, a new way to present your creativity. If you haven’t made a boomerang yet, try today and see for yourself.
  3. Infographics — So many of us struggle to learn things from those ancient/archaic e-learning books because they look dull and refuse to please our eyes. So, content marketing heroes invented infographics. This is a magic tool if we use it the right way. Writers and creators are coming in together to give their content a new look with the help of infographics. The mix of high quality images, awesome content and statistics (if needed) is the recipe to create one brilliant infographic.
  4. Memes — Wikipedia says, “A meme is an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person within a culture — often with the aim of conveying a particular phenomenon, theme, or meaning represented by the meme.” Infographics may give us a good learning session but it is those memes that bring in the fun. Memes is not a game that millennials practice, now even baby boomers are complying to. Although memes were invented a long ago they are rolling on a new level on the internet today. What can we say? How profoundly magical memes have turned out to be. Do we need say more?

Although content has always been the king but we still need to keep working at it to make it more relatable and valuable for our audience. Every word, every sentence and everything else in your content matters. Make it worthwhile for the audience!
