In one of my blogs, I talked about how one can mold her way toward writing if she has even a little interest in it. And all it takes to at least begin your exceptional journey toward writing. To make matters a little clearer, let me just begin by saying writing is liberation and an affliction that makes a writer suffer every day a little more than the last.

As Mark Manson mentioned in one of his books, ‘If suffering is inevitable, if our problems in life are unavoidable, then the question we should be asking is not “How do I end this suffering?” but “Why am I suffering — for what purpose?”

Food for thought, right?

But but but.. wait a minute.. Is it necessary for one to feel that pain just to be a writer. Of course not! With this extreme culture of blogging, we write about anything and everything. We accustom ourselves to noticing minute details of things unfolding around us to write the magnum opus. None of us know when this next big thing will occur. Or the appropriate question would be this — Is there a thing called a masterpiece or is it just our constant desire to create art?

We don’t know or at least I don’t. As of now, all my focus is on writing and that is all.

Moving ahead, in these times of blogging it becomes a little difficult to come up with unique content. Many of us are generating new content everyday or should I just say, most of us more inclined towards recreating content. Yes, that is a better way to put it. To recreate content, we articulate our arbitrary but precious thoughts in a piece of writing and wish to make it through a thousand other pieces to shine out.

While we are at it we have to know that a little help is always appreciated and in our case, observations help. But to be a little more specific, I am talking about some writing tools that will get you through some mistakes that you miss out on. I write business articles in a professional capacity and rely a little on these tools.

Here’s the list of my go-to writing tools:

  1. Keyword Tool — For SEO purposes, professional bloggers tend to search keywords to see what it is that their audience is looking for. To put it in a more specific manner, before we begin to write our piece we have to know what people are searching for, what is going to rank on SERPs. This is the first priority nonetheless. And to be honest, if you’re not going to rank on SERPs, no one will be able to see your work. And then there’s hardly anything left to do with your content. This definitely doesn’t mean even if the content is trashy but stuffed with keywords, it’ll rank high. That is never gonna happen. You content should hold quality and should be meaningful.
  2. Google Docs — Now, what the hell! You must be thinking that this stupid and no one wants to know this as everybody is already aware of this. But trust me many are still not using this and risk the chance of losing all their writings. Then you would thank me for reminding to stick to Google Docs and have a safe haven for your extraordinary drafts.
  3. Hemingway Editor — This is a web application which helps you see the readability of your draft and what measures you can take to improve it. The app gives you a grade after assessing your writing with meticulous suggestions like which sentences are hard to read and where you shouldn’t be using passive voices. Trust me, these are very helpful and as you begin to edit your draft, it suggests you which words can be omitted or if you can simply replace one with another.
  4. Hubspot’s Blog Idea Generator — Now, I hardly make use of it but believe me I sometimes do find myself in a situation where I don’t just get an idea for some topics. This turns out to be extremely helpful in such cases. I suggest you to try this as you may end up with a unique blog topic. You never know!
  5. Medium — This may seem a little promotional but i promise Medium hasn’t paid me a single cent for this. Ever since i started writing here, my ideas just took another form and I realized this is my free zone and I have no restrictions, whatsoever. This writing platform lets you write as many drafts you like. Or as they call it Stories. The other best part is that this allows to create a Series as well. Now you may come up with a cool series of short stories and publish them here. To hell with book publishers! If I were you I would just say that if my short stories are worth a read then I’ll find my way. The next good thing about Medium is that if someone likes your stories they can clap as many times as they want. Isn’t that great?

To conclude, a little help will always prove beneficial.
